Washcloth -- Photo © Amy Solovay. Crochet an easy textured
washcloth with this free pattern. The washcloth is soft and gentle
enough to use on a baby, but people of any age can enjoy using it.
The washcloth is crocheted using Nature's Choice organic cotton
yarn by Lion Brand. This is an easy pattern which incorporates two
different variations of single crochet stitch. The stitch
combination is partially responsible for the interesting mix of
textures you see; this particular yarn is also quite textured,
adding even more visual interest. Pictured at right is the
solid-colored version of the washcloth. I also tried making a

Cleaning Up with Crochet
One of the easiest ways to add crochet to a knitting project is
adding it as a border, as is done on this Seed Stitch Washcloth
with Crochet Trim.

Seed Stitch Washcloth with Crochet Trim, (c) Sarah E. White. This
is a cute little project that's super fast. The Seed Stitch cloth
is really easy to knit, and it sort of reminiscent of crochet. A
contrast-colored crocheted border is added, using single crochet
and double crochet stitches. Believe me, if can do it, you can,
too.Cleaning Up with Crochet originally appeared on About.com

Crochet Week in Review
I thought it might be nice to create a short summary of my crochet
week, and find out a bit about how yours went too.

Crocheted Scarf -- Photo © M. Solovay. This week, I...
Published a new scarf pattern, and posted a few ideas for how to
wear scarves. Updated our index of free scarf patterns. Blogged
about Barbie doll's birthday and St Patrick's day. Started making
swatches in hopes of crocheting a new baby afghan. (I decided on a
different design than the one linked, but I haven't had a chance to
post it yet.) Strung about a zillion seed beads onto crochet
thread, in hopes of making some new beaded crochet projects.C...
Want to Learn to Crochet?
If you've never crocheted before or need a little brushup of your
skills, our Guide to Crochet, Amy, is here to help. She's got all
sorts of great information on the basics, such as: How to make a
slip knot How to crochet a chain Making single crochet and single
crochet variations Double crochet and variations Some of this can
also be found in crochet videos Amy tells me that Tunisian crochet
may be an easier technique for knitters to learn because of its
similarity to knitting. She's got some fun Tunisian crochet

beginners to try, she says, include the classic Granny Square and
